  • Old Times

Since others donate a picture for the group to use, I thought I would put one up. I took this on my recent trip to Silverton, CO. Its just the photo so you can try your hand at making it into art. Ron

  • Colorado High

I took some photos on a recent trip to Silverton, CO which is about a 2 hour drive from where I live. Driving is over good but winding mountain roads. Its a pretty area and has two steam engine trains that go from Durango to Silverton. The train ride is 4 hours. I used PE4 using a thick impasto brush...

  • Tree Blossums

This was originaly a fall tree which I have re-painted using other colors. This was a fairly complex development that used PSP X2 as well to get the color variations. I liked the perspective and color combination.

  • Desert Flower

A flower blooming near the river. Partly hand painted and part auto. The frame in a frame is a style I have used in the past and wanted to do again.

  • Weaver's Hut

This is a new painting done from a recent photo I took at a place called Salmon ruins in New Mexico. I used watercolor as a base then soft cloning and blending brushes. A final touch of image luminance to make the wood look better. I added the light path from the window and the clouds using PSP X2 in...

  • The Color of the Past

This is an abstract that is meant to invoke the look of native American art. I just started with a circle and worked from there. It has a light texture in the circle along with a different one in the background.

  • Color Majesty

Ok, another mountain picture (no one has said stop, yet). Painted freehand in PE4 in my usual high color levels.

  • Lookout

Well, I haven't posted for a while but here is a watercolor done in PE4 and PSP X2. I found that PE4 is easier to use for watercolor than PX.

  • Commanche Warriors 11

This was painted in PX but could have easily been the same in PE4. Used some auto paint to start then hand painted. It is two Commanche warriors on horses. These were the fiercest of the American indians who trained for war as they grew up. They were also expert horsemen.

  • Lone tree - another view

This was done in PE4 (to keep the crowd happy). It was tuned up a bit in PSP X2 (background color change, color sat, etc.)
