Melbourne has a HUGE cafe culture. I really like the idea of trying to capture some of this culture in an art form.
I took the photo for this with permission from the cafe owner, a great fun Italian bloke, and have since sent him some copies.
This Photo was converted to sepia tones prior to painting in detailed watercolour. Then used the camel oil cloner, artists pastels, and new simple watercolour.
I wanted to retain some of its photographic qualities but also add the less detailed look of a watercolour in other areas.
