It's my Dad's birthday today so I decided to paint this for him.

Nice one! It looks like a lovely place to relax, and I hope your Dad enjoyed his card as much as I did.
I got the local camera shop to print me a 5 x 7" print on matt paper. This is the first that I've actually printed. It's come up fabulous. I've decided it's time that I printed more of my paintings since this one turned out so well.
I do that all the time too, and I have found a guy online who does large giclee prints onto canvas at a very good price, but if you rarely go larger than A4 you can put canvas through an inkjet printer and even apply some acrylic varnish afterwards to bring back the depth of colour, and protect from UV. You could for instance do some long thin prints onto canvas, cut them out, and if you have a sewing machine with an overlock, or blanket stitch function, you could reinforce the edges, put a tassel on, and hey presto you've got bookmarks as personalised gifts for friends and relatives. The sky's the limit.
