Hi... I'm steve (aka sp!ke), and I am a designer.
What kind of designer?
My title is '
User Experience Designer', but I have history in Industrial, Product, Graphic, Commercial Interior, Furniture, and User Interface Design, as well as Fine Art.
What's the common thread? I like to bring creative solutions to a given problem, working with all of the relevant folks in the process, including designers, developers, manufacturers and so many others, and most importantly - the end user.
So what does a 'User Experience Designer' do? I spend a lot of time having conversations with folks, on the phone, at conferences, through online forums, via email, in their studio, in their kitchen even - wherever they want - all to get a better understanding of how they are using Painter. Learning the good, the bad, the ugly and the fantastic from folks, then coming back and compiling all of these into a monster list - oh do I like lists - prioritizing, new list, re-prioritizing, yet another list, reviewing, scheduling, and finally coming up with THE LIST.
Working with a cross-functional team, we look at the list, and develop solutions for the items on the list, refining the designs working with folks both internally, as well as folks out there, to design solutions to best fit with folks using Painter, and solve the issue identified.
What's my passion? Bringing the best tools to the best Artists in the world and witnessing what they create.
cheers!
