I'm Melissa. I'm 16 (as of next week) and next fall, I will be a high school junior. I love art. I'm a member of the National Art Honor Society, and I'm involved in the IB Art program, and the Hecksher-Usdan Institute which is a program for high school artists on Long Island.
I spend my summers going to Usdan, a summer day camp for the visual and performing arts. I major in cartooning, and dropped my minor in order to be in the Hecksher-Usdan program. I love to draw and use oil pastels most, but I just recently got a new tablet pc, and it came with Corell Essentials which I'm enjoying a lot. I love being outside. I love nature and the environment (and I strongly support any efforts to help protect the environment as you can see from my username). Forests are my favorite part of nature. I love trees a lot. If I could bring my laptop to the forest with me and draw it, I would, but I cannot see my computer screen from outside. :( I will try to take photographs of the forest and paint them on the comptuer though! Unfortunatly my camera got a crack in the lens so if i want any quality realistc pictures, I have to make them myself.
Well, that's about it for now as far as my artistic life. I suppose if you wanted to know anything else, I will glady answer questions.
