Mallory de Havilland - a Duck with attitude

I went for an early morning drive this very day, to Clumber Park - whilst there I went to the lake, and this duck was in residence, and protecting his mate and territory. He was a very handsome duck , and I asked him if he would mind if I took a photograph in order to do his portrait later, and he said "Quack", so without disturbing him or his mate I carefully focussed and took the shot. I thanked him, and said I would paint him with small and large impressionist brushes later, and that he would be famous, and female ducks would come from far and wide to have his ducklings, he replied " I don't give a quack - just get on with it - this pose is hard to hold " I hope you like the result.

    He's a fine figure of a duck and it's a super picture.

A duck swimming in what appears to be a pool of golden light. It seems kind of Wagnerian, or Valhallaish to me. Maybe this was Siegfried appearing to you in duck form?

Ah! Wagner - now there is a man who composed my kind of music - whilst at the underpainting stage of an artwork I cannot imagine a better piece of music to listen to than Ride of the Valkyries. There is an annual festival of Wagner's music in Bayreuth- Germany but usually the tickets are sold out, so I have to placate myself with a Telarc recording. Ironically, Hitler attended performances that included Jewish and foreign singers, long after they had been banned from all other venues across Germany. Such is the power of music.
