    Abstract Xmas Lights

I shot the Xmas lights out of focus then painted the result Ess4, oil with impressionist brush then added 25% surface texture using image luminance. Then I clean it up some with the impressionist brush by hand.

that was a good idea, and the result could also make a good background for another image

Lovely effect, and I think Toulouse is right, you could also use it as a background.

You both are right. I can't wait to show you what I came up with as a foreground. I have to do some resizing and then I'll upload it.

Tolouse, this is my first try at this. What I did was tone down the colors on the Xmas lights painting and then added a boat load of bubbles then repainted the whole thing.

very creative - the sight of a beautiful maiden looking through a glass of fine champagne, what did you see?

Well to me it looks like balloons disappearing off into a sunset!  Again Ralph, a great effect.
