I came across this picture when looking up my home county of Nottinghamshire. It was tiny and I expanded it using genuine fractals, (a plugin in adobe photshop) as this has less of a tendency to pixilate.
This is one of the original platforms at the Nottingham Midland Railway Station which was built in the late 1800's. Just look at that architecture, they sure don't build them like that anymore. This was built at a time when beauty and craftmanship were as important as durability and strength. A total contrast to todays attitudes.
Methods Used
Midland station picture totally in auto paint in Essentials 4 unless otherwise stated.

Detailed water in default but without jagged edge
New layer and my sketch , twice
New layer detailed water using impressionist cloner
Lower opacity of layer to around 25% but increase contrast
